The sword has played an important role in the history of mankind since ancient times. We all know that the sword has the power to win the war due to great strength and valor but on the other hand a pen is very powerful and endowed with the ability to change history and humanity despite being fragile.

Meaning

Written by the famous writer Edward Bulwer-Lytton, 'Pen is mightier than the sword' holds great significance with simple and profound meaning. This shows that the writers of the world have more influence on the people than the soldiers because in the world there are many famous writers like William Wordsworth, John Keats, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Rabindranath Tagore etc. who are known but very few people. Be able to identify the names of the soldiers who conquered many forts through the war. The pen has been creating wonders for many centuries as written information spread in the form of knowledge that could preserve people's lives. Debates and discussions at national level can also solve various problems between different countries but war can destroy the economic and material strength of countries. Even at the personal level, literature spreads knowledge but the fight spreads hatred.

In a world of political warfare and unrest, we need a pen more than a sword. The fact behind this is that men are more influenced and guided by ideas than they are by fear of swords or physical forces. It is true that the power of the sword is limited for a particular time period but the effect of the pen is immortal and universal. The author should use this power with extreme caution as the image of huge figures in his writings can be created or broken.
