Introduction

Corruption is the conduct of a person by demonstrating that corrupt people earn money in their own interest by keeping all the rules of the constitution at bay.

History of corruption

Corruption is not a present problem, but it has been prevalent in the world for many decades. There is evidence that Britain used to deal with the soil of the country for its own interest. The king forgot to distinguish right from wrong to save his kingdom. This can be seen as the beginning of corruption.

Steps taken by the government against corruption

Digitization - 

Government services have been made online by the government, this has reduced the amount of bribery and the subsidy goes directly to the beneficiary's account.

Expelled from the job - 

The corrupt officers were fired, this included the Income Tax Department, Police Department and other respected officials.

Election Reform - 

With the passage of time, the electoral system has been reformed as before.

 A lock on illegal institutions and shops - 

Thousands of illegal institutions, NGOs and shops have been closed.

Anti-Corruption index

To curb corruption, the Corruption Perception Index has been set up globally in 1995. It ranks all countries on the basis of corruption each year, with 0 being the most corrupt country whereas 100 means corruption-free country. At present, this ranking is done among 180 countries. For example, the ranking of countries based on the Corruption Index 2019 is as follows.

Canada, France, United States, United Kingdom have found a decrease in scores over the previous year. At the same time, there is no change in the score of Germany, Japan. Four other countries including India and China are in 80th position with 41 points. India was ranked 78th in 2018, according to which India's score has dropped by 2 points.

Corruption free country

Denmark was declared the first corruption-free country with 87 points based on the Corruption Perception Index.

Most corrupt country

Somalia is the most corrupt country in the world by achieving 9 points.

Swiss bank:  Biggest centre of corruption

'UBS' is a major financial bank in the world, it is popular with the Swiss bank in India. Its full name is Union Bank of Switzerland. The world's most corrupt citizens and politicians keep money in this bank by stealing tax from their country. In the words of the director of the Swiss bank, "Indian is poor but India was never poor". In India only, about 280 lakh crore rupees are deposited in the Swiss bank. This amount is so much that even for the next 30 years, without tax, India can easily make its budget or, say, 60 crore employment opportunities can be given.

Corruption has become a global problem which almost all developed countries are grappling with. We exist from the country, that is, we are nothing without the country, so every citizen should make every effort to free his country from corruption.
